There was a story within me that would not be still – Sylvia Plath
I love stringing together words that make me feel things. It occurred to me that a blog is just the place to do this. I am a animal loving professional listener (aka, professional counselor and marriage and family therapist). I write a lot of songs and perform them for my dogs and cat. My partner and I love to have dance parties on Tuesday nights while we make dinner. I also love public displays of affection. I think people want to be loved and they’ve been tricked into thinking that new cars and big houses are the path to connection. When the truth is connection is found in vulnerability! Who knew? (Brene Brown did).
My intention with the Sissy Beard Blog is to start a conversation and create a community related to (but not limited to) the themes of courage, connection, and compassion using the language of lovingkindness. Please, join me on a ride through my personal ramblings and thoughts.
We get a just a few fleeting moments on this little blue orb to do stuff so I think we should do stuff that we think matters. It might just be some weird dream anyway.
I also hang out:
